A Spartanburg St. Patrick’s Day

As the calendar turns from February to March, everyone is looking to move past the cold energy of winter and looks ahead to spring, warmer temperatures and good times. And in Spartanburg, that energy kicks off right around St. Patrick’s Day.

ST. PATRICK’S PARTIES

The celebration will be in full effect in Downtown Spartanburg as Delaney’s Irish Pub rings in the day with the luck of the Irish on March 16, 2024.

With Irish in its name, Delaney’s steps it up for St. Patrick’s, hosting their annual Shenanigans on the Square, a full-day event featuring live music, drink and food specials and special attractions for families.

You’ll be able to find plenty of Guinness at Delaney’s, but they’ll also be serving up the kinds of traditional dishes you’d expect to find on St. Patrick’s day menus like bangers and mash (sausage and mashed potatoes), Shepherd’s pie and the ultimate St. Pat’s dish, corned beef and cabbage.

Best of all, Delaney’s serves up these Irish favorites all year round so you can get a taste of St. Patrick’s Day whenever you crave it.

Also on March 16 will be FR8yard’s annual Yard Malarkey, featuring live music all day, Lucky Charms cereal and potato eating contests, and an Irish Spring soap whittling contest. This plus all the great food, drinks, and fun you can find on a nice day at FR8yard.

In Woodruff, new-to-the-scene Irish Pub Conner Flynn’s Public House will host a daylong St. Patrick’s Day Festival packed with live music, bounce houses, dunk tank, and even more family-friendly activities.

MORE WAYS TO CELEBRATE

Keep the spirits high, and flowing, by stopping into any of your favorite drink spots across Spartanburg.

Whether it’s on St. Patty’s Day proper (March 17) or the surrounding days, plenty of Spartanburg spots are ready to help you get festive.

Rockers Brewing Co.,  Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery, FR8yard, Main Street Pub and Bond Street Wines will be open. Head here to check out more about Spartanburg’s craft beer scene.

And for something with a kick of caffeine, check out the coffee creations available at Little River Coffee Bar, The Pharmacy or Spill the Beans.

And for select tastes of some Irish flair, Landrum’s The Hare and The Hound has dishes to fill that St. Pat’s niche. The Guinness Beef Pie features Sirloin steak marinated in the popular Irish beer, slow-cooked with celery, carrots, mushrooms and onions before being topped with mashed potatoes and onion straws. There’s also a Fish and Chips basket with traditional malt vinegar available.
