The summer months can get quite toasty in Spartanburg, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a slate of events for you, your family and even your four-legged friends to enjoy.
From community-wide celebrations to much-anticipated musical performances, get your calendar out for June, July, and August and take advantage of summertime in Spartanburg.
June 7, 2025: Sparkle City Rhythm & Ribs
Presented by the Spartanburg Southside Lions Club, Sparkle City Rhythm & Ribs will feature 10 musical performances at Barnet Park and a whole host of food truck and barbecue options, not to mention a local makers’ market.
Proceeds from the event will be channeled back into the Spartanburg community through the Lions Club’s various service and advocacy projects.
May 31-June 22: Juneteenth Events in Spartanburg
Juneteenth is a big deal in Spartanburg and 2025 features several ways to celebrate throughout the month.
On May 31, Spartanburg Juneteenth will host the Taste of Black Spartanburg, a dynamic celebration of Black culture, entrepreneurship, and culinary excellence. The event itself will feature a food truck rally, vendor marketplace featuring Black-owned businesses, a kids’ zone, and much more.
On June 7, there will be a Juneteenth Parade in Spartanburg.
On June 17, Spartanburg Juneteenth will host a Black Market Tuesday, and the following day, they’ll host a Race Seminar.
The main event of sorts comes June 20, the day of the Juneteenth BEC Freedom Gala. The gala will empower small businesses and nonprofits working in Spartanburg, complete with a red-carpet kick-off event, and night of live performances and award presentations.
July 4: Red, White, & Boom! 2025
Red, White, & Boom has a new venue and a new schedule for 2025.
Spartanburg’s annual Independence Day celebration will be held at Fifth Third Park after the Hub City Spartanburgers game against the Winston-Salem Dash.
Fans attending the game will have early-access to secure their spot on the field for the fireworks show, which starts at 9:15 PM.
Gates to Fifth Third Park will reopen for those who don’t attend the game but want to watch the fireworks show at the stadium. Field space is first-come, first-served and lawn chairs are not allowed.
August 4: The Railroad Revival Tour with Mumford & Sons & Friends
The popular folk band Mumford and Sons is bringing its Railroad Revival Tour, complete with some special guests, to Spartanburg’s Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds in early-August.
Tickets for the show are on sale now, including special VIP packages.
Music on Main: Thursdays, April through the end of July
The City’s longtime live music series, brings the energy at Morgan Square every Thursday from April through July. The series features a host of talented musical acts performing genres varying from rock to bluegrass to funk to R&B.
Fretwell Market (June… July… August)
The monthly market at Fretwell will feature food and drinks, locally-made goods and artisan crafts, and special guests throughout the day.
