A Night Out On The Town In Spartanburg

late night at the Nu-Way Lounge

Attending a big event or conference is delightfully energizing, is it not? Between learning exciting new information, connecting with others in your field, and exploring an interesting new city, it’s basically a field trip for grownups!

Though with so much to do in so little time, it can definitely be difficult to find ways to maximize your downtime. Since your days are probably going to be filled with workshops and meet & greets, we thought we’d help by showing you how you can make the most of your evening in Spartanburg after a long day at a conference—

Stimulate Your Senses

Live Music at FR8yard, Spartanburg

Scarfing down a boxed lunch from a chain restaurant between presentations is great and all, but at the end of the day nothing beats indulging in an authentic taste of Spartanburg. We pride ourselves on carefully crafted meals made from locally sourced ingredients, international flavors as diverse as our community, casual bites perfect for a stress-free dining experience, and plenty of southern staples. It’s impossible to pick favorites, so take your time and browse all of our dining options—you’re sure to find something that’ll tantalize your tastebuds.

As for after dinner entertainment, do as the locals do! We have some pretty impressive musical roots, which means you can almost always find live music at our venues, outdoor events, or bars and restaurants. So go ahead and bang your head at Ground Zero, scat to the sax at The Music Stand at Blues Boulevard, dance under the stars at FR8yard, discover regional favorites at Nu-Way Lounge, or take in a musical or ballet at the Chapman Cultural Center.

Of course we also encourage you to check out our maps, guides, trails, and tours which showcase the highlights of our rich heritage and most spectacular outdoor recreation spots.

Brews & Booze

cocktail from The Kennedy

Nothing beats unwinding after a long day with an ice cold beer, and our local craft beer scene can hang with the best of ’em. Within 10 minutes of downtown we’ve got RJ Rockers Brewing Co., Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery, and Holliday Brewing. Or if you’re willing to venture out a little further you’ll find New Groove Artisan Brewery and Plankowner Brewing out in Boiling Springs. Each of these breweries is open until 10:00 or later most nights, so all of you night animals can let the good times roll until well after sundown.

Prefer a different kind of brew? Get your second wind with an expertly poured latte, refreshing iced coffee, or even a perfectly spiced chai at at one of our delightful little cafes. Bella Latte has three convenient locations to get your caffeine fix, or you can grab a cup of joe at Spill the Beans (along with an ice cream cone to satisfy the ol’ sweet tooth). Not sure what you want but know you want something?

Speaking of wine, perhaps you fancy a glass or two after a day of networking, seminars, and elevator pitches. Carriage House Wines and Bond Street Wine have an impressive selection of reds, whites, and rosés, as does The Wine Gallery in Woodruff.  Though if you’re looking for something a little stronger, you can’t go wrong at The Kennedy or even the hotel bar with a Crescent Cocktail made from local Motte & Sons vodka.

If you still can’t decide, you can continue browsing all crafted beverages here.
