This area includes 21 indoor live performance venues; nine outdoor performance venues; 43 galleries or exhibit spaces; 38 murals and other public art displays; five museums; 64 studios and workshops; six historic sites; 15 green spaces and arboretums; 251 creative industry and cultural jobs; and 1,335 events and festivals open to the public.

Spartanburg High School – Tournaments and Events

Main Athletic Fields
Football/Lacrosse/Soccer events are played on this state of art synthetic MONDO Ecofill MF FTS playing field. Installed in 2009 it has all weather playing capabilities and its own self contain water irrigation system to cool the playing surface during extremely hot weather. Amenities include concessions, restrooms, press box, digital wireless scoreboard with included Sportsound 1000 system, and seating for 1000. This complex is illuminated with Musco’s Light‐Structure Green Sports Lighting System.

Viking Track
Constructed in 2009 this world class MondoTrack FTX surface is the same track surface that was used in the Beijing Olympic Games 2008 and the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Valencia. This premium custom made track has increased the optimal traction and contact area due to the irregular size and shape of the tessellation pattern and has been designed to provide the best traction between track and spikes and for a greater contact area than other track systems. This improves the athletes’ grip and performance. Track facility contains 8 world class lanes, Lynx MVP fully automatic timing system, two jump pits, pole vault, and high jump areas. This complex is illuminated with Musco’s Light‐Structure Green Sports Lighting System.

Spartanburg Music Trail

The Spartanburg Music Trail honors musicians from Spartanburg who have made a national or international impact in the world of music. The stops highlight artists in such genres as country, gospel, soul, rock ‘n’ roll and more. Ultimately the trail will circle the downtown as new inductees are added.
