Music on Main: Music on Main is Downtown Spartanburg's favorite after-work live music series, a social gathering spot where friends and colleagues get together to enjoy some great music and good times right on Morgan Square The weekly concert is held Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Downtown Spartanburg. May shows include Carolina Soul Band, Back9, The Night Affair Band, Always Monday and Brad Keaton.

Music Trail: The Spartanburg Music Trail honors musicians from Spartanburg who have made a national or international impact in the world of music. The stops highlight artists in such genres as country, gospel, soul, rock 'n' roll and more. Ultimately the trail will circle the downtown as new inductees are added. As publisher of the book Hub City Music Makers: One Southern Town's Popular Music Legacy, the nonprofit Hub City Writers Project took the lead in organizing the Spartanburg Music Trail. The initial honorees were chosen because they represent a wide variety of music styles, a broad demographic of our county, and almost 200 years of music-making history. The Spartanburg Convention & Visitors Bureau has partnered with Hub City Writers Project, the City of Spartanburg, and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra to produce this version of the tour. You can walk this trail in about 30 minutes. The Music Trail begins in the Grain District at the corner of Main and South Daniel Morgan Avenue and ends at the Chapman Cultural Center. Drop in at Hub City Books, 186 West Main Street, to pick up a walking tour brochure.

Jazz on the Square: Friday evenings in the spring and fall in Downtown Spartanburg mean one thing: it's time for Jazz on the Square. The City of Spartanburg brings this biannual music series to Morgan Square in Downtown Spartanburg every Friday in April and May and then again in September and October. Shows are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The Square provides the perfect venue to enjoy Jazz on the Square, with its picturesque surroundings providing the perfect backdrop for the sounds of some great local and regional musicians. Beverages are available for purchase (Anyone wishing to purchase an alcoholic beverage must be 21 years of age and must show a valid ID) and after the show, Downtown Spartanburg's fantastic restaurants have dinner covered. Upcoming May shows include: The AKB, A night of Jazz with Bands of District 7, The Jamie Wright Band, and the Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble.

Street Music Series: Chapman Cultural Center’s Street Music Series has returned to the Spartanburg Downtown Cultural District. The Street Music Series was launched in August 2017 and ran for 13 weeks. Local musicians will be set up on the sidewalk in four locations along East and West Main streets through October.
