Nearly one hundred people died in floodwaters that swept through the Pacolet River valle on the morning of June 6, 1903. The flood wiped out sixty-five homes, destroyed four textile mills and heavily damaged two others. Almost all of those who dies were mill workers. This small park of remembrance was dedicated to flood victims in November 2011.
