Known through the 1800s as a popular summer destination for Low Country South Carolinians, Glenn Springs was once a thriving resort community. Unfortunately, the large hotel that anchored this community was destroyed by fire, but many points of interest survive, including the Glenn Springs Academy, Episcopal and Presbyterian Churches, and the historic homes built by John C. Zimmerman, Charles W. Zimmerman, Dr. Maurice Moore (Cedar Grove), and Dr. John Winsmith (Camp Hill).
