Located in historic Glendale, Glendale Shoals Preserve follows Lawson's Fork Creek and is 13 acres of scenic property, with a waterfall that cascades over a dam, and significant plant, animal and bird life. Walk across the shoals and skip some rocks, or have a picnic in the meadow and enjoy the view. Directions: From East Main St., take Fernwood Glendale Rd. Take a right on Clifton-Glendale Rd. Turn left on Emma Cudd Rd and the parking area is immediately to your left beside the old iron bridge. The preserve starts just below the dam.

My family and I adore this place. It's great for hikes, picnics, fishing and swimming, biking and canoeing as well. It's also wonderful for photography :)
