FAMILY ITINERARY

The Children’s Museum of the Upstate has new digs in Downtown Spartanburg, and it’s the perfect place to kickoff your visit. The new space features programs for children ages birth-5 with exhibits specific to Spartanburg’s landmarks and culture. Just outside the Museum, you can stroll by Lighten Up Spartanburg, an outdoor art exhibit with brightly-colored lightbulbs throughout downtown.

Wade’s Restaurant is the perfect place for a family lunch, a place where you can enjoy Thanksgiving and traditional Southern food all-year round.

After lunch, work off the calories at one of Spartanburg’s parks. Barnet Park, just outside downtown, features a large play area and a splash pad, perfect for summertime cooldowns. Head back downtown to take on Sparkle City Putt Putt, the only free, urban putt putt course in the state!

If you’re looking for some indoor fun, Big Air Spartanburg Trampoline Park also is in the Westgate Mall area, and includes rock climbing, laser maze, jousting, as well as plenty of trampoline fun for small and large kids alike.

Catch some Zs at the Spartanburg Marriott before starting the morning by picking strawberries at Strawberry Hill USA, home of one of the largest strawberry fields in the Southeast! Then, head across the street and have lunch and a scoop of homemade ice cream at their café.

When the weather is hot, there is nothing better than spending the day cooling off at a water park. Head to Shipwreck Cove Water Park in Duncan and let the kids play in their waterslides and in the lazy river.  No need to travel anywhere for lunch-just grab a bite to eat at their snack bar.

LeMans Karting lets you embrace your need for speed! The go-kart track has several available races and a time attack, letting drivers go for the fastest lap they can get around the winding LeMans track. The karting professionals at LeMans make sure safety precautions are taken before each kart whips around the track, so LeMans Karting is equally equipped to host a corporate retreat as they are a child’s birthday party.”
