Why Spartanburg?

Imagine a place that has vibrant hotels, state-of-the-art event venues, and quaint historic streets with public art on every corner. Now, imagine that place being Spartanburg, SC. Surprised?

We know Southern hospitality. Situated between Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC, at the intersection of I-85 and I-26, and in driving distance of three international airports, we also know that it’s a breeze to get here. What we don’t know is why you haven’t come to visit yet?

How Are We Keeping Things Safe & Clean?

Our hotel and venue partners are going above and beyond, taking every precaution to ensure safe, clean and responsible events for you and your attendees. Our community is taking precautions, too, with expanded outdoor dining and business commitments to masks and hygiene.

Social distancing signage, partitions throughout the hotels, and contactless mobile services

Enhanced cleaning measures in all guest rooms and tailored housekeeping services

Increased frequency of cleaning public areas and shared amenities with recommended cleaning agents

New meeting space capacities to allow for social distancing

Creative & flexible food services such as pre-portioned servings, and grab & go options

Customizable event features including spaced layouts, single-use utensils, and technology packages

Bringing Back The Burg

In addition to our hotel and venue partners, local businesses have also made commitments to combat COVID-19 so that your attendees can safely enjoy our community beyond your event.

Things To Do

What others are saying…

“Spartanburg was the first remote location for our annual conference, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! We can’t say enough about the Marriott, its central location, and the wonderful Southern hospitality. Our attendees loved our scavenger hunt through downtown Spartanburg. It’s such a great walk- and bike-friendly community, and it has so many healthy food options. We think the beauty of the area and the relaxing atmosphere contributed to our memorable experience.”

What others are saying…

“Let’s have a Revolutionary Experience in Spartanburg” became the theme for CIRA’s Carolinas-Georgia Chapter annual reunion whose success was due to outstanding service, insightful recommendations and guidance provided by Spartanburg’s CVB. Commitment, well-honed communication and organization and an in-depth knowledge of the city and its environs, are reflected in the professionalism of those who represent the CVB. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work with them.”

What others are saying…

“Together SC has orchestrated an annual gathering of our state’s nonprofit leaders for over twenty years. To facilitate participation, each year we partner with a different community. In 2015 we had 600-700 join us for three days at the Spartanburg Marriott.

If I had my druthers, we’d hold our summit there every year.

Hands down, they offer the best combination of comfortable meeting rooms, attentive hotel staff, free parking, affordable hotel rooms, great restaurants nearby and engaged community leaders of any hotel we’ve worked with in the state.”

What others are saying…

“The board and membership of the International Perfume Bottle Association thank the Spartanburg CVB for assisting us in holding one of our most successful conventions. Comments from our members noted the helpfulness, courtesy and welcoming we received from the entire Spartanburg community. Everyone we encountered seemed genuinely concerned and committed to our success. In addition, our attendees have ranked the Marriott as one of the best hotels we have used in our 27 years of convention. This is quite a compliment from a group with very high standards and expectations.”

What others are saying…

“As the host destination for the 2017 SC Governor’s Conference on Tourism & Travel, the Spartanburg CVB went above and beyond to ensure the success of our event, providing turnkey service and bringing innovative, fresh ideas that created truly original, value-added experiences for our attendees. As an event host, they are the gold standard when it comes to partnership and unwavering commitment to excellence. It was a pleasure working with the team at the Spartanburg CVB to host South Carolina’s largest gathering of tourism professionals.”
